Benin
The Benin Football Federation (FBF) will hold fresh elections for a new Executive Committee on Thursday.
The game’s world governing body, FIFA suspended the FBF from football in May after a court ruling in the country made nonsense of the FIFA’s rules by blocking previous elections.
The ban was provisionally lifted over the weekend on condition elections were held “no later than 11 June, 2016”.
If Thursday’s elections goes ahead as planned, Benin will be able to play an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
The match was originally scheduled for Sunday, 5 June but had to be postponed because of the suspension by Fifa.
Benin are second in their Gabon 2017 qualifying Group C, two points behind leaders Mali. The West African country have two matches to play and should win all two to secure qualification.
